Shredder Preferences
As you already know from the Preferences Window Overview chapter, MacKeeper Preferences window opens with the tab that corresponds to the feature you are currently working with. Therefore, when you click MacKeeper, Preferences while using Shredder, the Preferences window will open with the Shredder tab.

In MacKeeper’s Preferences you can select the preferable shredding algorithm:
- 35-pass Gutmann
- 7 US DoD compliant passes
- Single pass of random data
If you select the Zero shredded data option, the space the shredded file once occupied will be replaced with binary zeroes, ensuring even more protection from recovery.
