Protecting your Mac with Anti-Theft

The Anti-Theft service offers you a unique opportunity to track down your Mac in case it is lost or stolen.

1Enable the service from the MacKeeper application.

You should be logged in to the MacKeeper application with your ZeoBIT account to activate Anti-Theft. Enable Anti-Theft BEFORE your Mac is stolen!

2In case your Mac is stolen, from any other computer navigate to the My Account page of MacKeeper website, or go directly to http://account.zeobit.com.

3Under Services, click Anti-Theft.

4Check whether Anti-Theft is activated; if not, click Change Status to make it active.

5If you did not provide your phone number during registration, enter it in the Phone field.

6Click the Computer was stolen button.

7As soon as your Mac goes online, Anti-Theft will generate a report on its location and email it to you and MacKeeper customer support along with the thief snapshot – a feature for Macs with iSight webcams that will be automatically activated after you click Computer was stolen.

Important

Even if your Mac does not have iSight, we still recommend you to leave Thief Snapshot activated, as someone else may connect a separate webcam to a stolen Mac.

8Then a customer support representative will call you, giving detailed guidelines on how to communicate with the police and get your Mac back.

9Finally, in addition to the phone call you will receive an email message with the up-to-date report. In case the customer support representative cannot reach you on the phone, you will get the aforementioned guidelines in the email as well.

10After the police has found your Mac, do not forget to go to http://account.zeobit.com and click the Computer was found button to change the Stolen status to the Found status.
