Staying Up to Date with Update Tracker
Watch tutorial on Update Tracker
Update Tracker checks each application installed on your Mac for a new version available.
When you open Update Tracker, you will see the list of all applications installed on your Mac. In the application list, out of date applications are marked with red, while those that are up to date are marked with green. You can view the "red" and "green" applications as separate lists using the filter above the list. Clicking Out of Date will show only the "red" applications, whereas clicking Up to Date will show only the "green" applications.

The Update Tracker table includes the application title, current version, available version and update size. For each application you can observe detailed information by clicking blue “i” info button.
You can update your applications in two ways:
- 1For applications that do not have direct download links: Select the application in the list and click Update. A progress bar indicating the update progress will appear, and then you will be taken directly to the download page of the application website. Once the file is downloaded and mounted, you will only need to drag it to the Applications folder.
- 2For applications that have direct download links: Select the application in the list and click Update. A progress bar indicating the update progress will appear. Once the file is downloaded, the application will change its bubble color to green.

If some problems occur during the application update, then the Update button will change to Reveal for this application.

To update all applications, click Update All. A progress bar will appear, indicating the update progress and showing the name of the application currently being updated and the number of applications waiting to be updated. The applications that will be updated next are marked with gray in the list.

To refresh the application list, click Rescan. To interrupt the updating process, click the Stop All button. To preview the applications, use the Quick Look button. To search for specific applications, use the Filter field.

If you have some crucial applications which you would like to always be updated in the first place, click the star icons next to these applications in the list, and they will be added to the Favorite list.

To view the favorite applications, click the Favorite tab in the filter above the application list. To update all applications in the Favorite list, click Update All. To remove the applications from the Favorite list, click the star icons again.

If there are applications you need only temporarily and therefore do not want to get updates for them, you can move them to the blacklist. As a result, these applications will not appear in Update Tracker's list, and you will not receive any notifications about their updates.
To blacklist an application, right-click it in the Update Tracker's list and select Move to Blacklist from the context menu.

To view the blacklisted applications, click the Blacklist tab in the filter above the application list.

To remove an application from the blacklist, right-click it and select Remove from Blacklist from the context menu.
